Moe Bandy & Mike Nichols
From classical to bluegrass, the outstanding performers of the Moe Bandy Show will help you understand and appreciate the advanced talents this performance displays.
A prominent jewel in Branson's crown, Moe Bandy puts on a boot-kickin', knee-slappin' show sure to please. It is an unmistakable mix of guitar, banjo, fiddlers, hammered dulcimer, dancing and a special bull-riding segment, along with madcap impersonations of other musical greats.
The Moe Bandy Show features the hits that made him famous, including "Americana," "It's a Cheatin' Situation" and "Good Ol' Boys." He and the Americana Band show a diverse musical repertoire, including everything from bluegrass to classical. Rounding out the performance are his sidekick Hargus, enticing surprises, and the hillbilly comedy antics of Mike Nichols.
Moe's wife, Teresa, shares the stage with him during the show and they treat listeners to some dazzling duets. Hailing from Laredo, Missouri, Teresa grew up in the theater business and started performing in her parents' musical show when she was six years old. The couple was married in 1998 and is currently working on a duet recording in Nashville. Moe, a former sheet metal worker from Texas turned musical phenomenon, has won seven Academy of Country Music and Country Music Academy awards and has recorded ten No. 1 hits during his extensive career.
Every performance of the two-hour show is taped live, and guests become part of the action during the intermission when video cameras scan the audience. Although the audience typically includes mostly adults, the show is appropriate for children. There are special holiday shows during Ozark Mountain Christmas in November and December. Moe opened the 900-seat Moe Bandy Americana Theater in 1991, becoming one of many country performers to establish themselves in Branson. The theater, formerly the Anita Bryant Theater, is located in the center of the "Branson Strip" on Highway 76 and incorporates state-of-the-art audio, video and special effects.
If you're looking for a stop on your trip to Branson that has a little bit of everything - from music and laughs to toe-tapping dancing - the Moe Bandy Show is for you!
