Bring your family to Branson, Mo from September 9th through October 30th for a learning experience that is packed with lots of fun at Silver Dollar City. All of your senses will be tickled with samplings of the music, crafts, and food that will show you parts of America that are still alive and well.

Music:

Tap your toes to the bouncing sounds of bluegrass and the inspiration of Southern Gospel during this festival of fun. Bluegrass bands like Posey Hill from Arkansas, the Ozark Alliance from Missouri, and the Waring Family from Iowa, which features the Midwest Bluegrass Awards 2004 Mandolin Player of the Year, Jesse Durham, and 2004 Female Vocalist Traditional, Susan Durham. Don't miss the KMSU Youth in Bluegrass Band Contest to see the talent that is up and coming. Crafts:

Meet craftsman from all over that have made it their lives to keep the art of their wares alive for us to enjoy today. Watch as hand-woven baskets are made by Robbie Wisdom, spinning and weaving by Linda Beckley, and Native American style flutes crafted by Ken and Lynne Waters. Enjoy the taste of Sheep's milk, cheese, and fudge from Richard Christman. In addition, see the best of Missouri Hands Artisans like wildlife pen and ink drawings by R. Glenn Garrison, porcelain pottery from Jeanne A. Scott, cornhusk dolls by Dawn Steuck, and rustic bent willow furniture from John Whitt Jr.

Food:

The Tastes of America Food Fair is sure to wake up your taste buds to flavors that will have you walking down memory lane. At Uncle Sam's Rib Shack, sample South Carolina Tangy Sweet Ribs, Southern Salsa Glazed Baby Back Ribs, or Spicy Cajun St. Louis Style Ribs or a pulled pork sandwich with side dishes of all time favorites like potato salad, cole slaw or baked beans. Atlantic Coast Fish Fry will have your mouth watering for fish and chips, crispy fried clams, jumbo Butterfly Shrimp, and clam or seafood chowder. Heartland offers sandwiches of breaded tenderloin, Bratwurst and kraut and grilled ham steak served with bucket bread, and garden vegetables of roasted potatoes or yellow and green beans and carrots. The Frontier will take you out on the range with ground chuck burgers, campfire roasted prairie chicken, and buffalo chili served in a sour dough bread bowl topped with Cheddar Cheese and sliced green onion. We love going to Silver Dollar City. It's great the first visit...and it's still great even if you have been there 100 times before. This year we took our 5-year old and experienced it again for the 1st time through his eyes. It was awesome!!

Very nice. Entertainment was excellent. Rides were great. A little too commercial. The Artisans who were making the crafts were pushing the sales of the products a little heavy handed.
